BCSC Data Explorer User Guide

The BCSC Data Explorer displays summaries of data about women, mammograms and other breast imaging examinations, and breast cancer in the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BCSC). Data were collected from 1994-2009. Tables and graphs show counts and percentages or rates. JavaScript is required for many features to work. Please read this page for instructions on how to enable JavaScript on your browser.

You do not need a sign-in account to use this tool. We aim to make it simple to use and accessible. You can start exploring right away without reading this guide. We hope that the following information will address any questions you might have.

Getting started

Counts of missing data are shown with the tables. Missing data is not included when calculating percentages in the tables.

Table cell counts of 5 or fewer will not be shown.

This tool posts only de-identified, aggregate data. We do not show data at the level of the radiology facility or breast imaging registry.

We recommend that you proceed with the Screen Layout section below. Instructions and tips for using each feature follow. A glossary page describes the variables and statistics.
